Founder Debbie Bondar created FACE atelier in part because she couldn’t find a foundation that matched her skin tone and was overwhelmed by the multitude of choices. She decided to develop an edited line of sophisticated, versatile, age and race neutral makeup that simply works, and works simply. FACE atelier emphasizes innovation over imitation, offering easy-to-use products driven by quality, performance and originality. The star of the line - Ultra Foundation - has its own cult following that includes Billy B, one of the most sought after A-list makeup artists in the world.FACE atelier was the official makeup sponsor for Kelly Clarkson and her 2012 Stronger Tour, Madonna’s Confessions Tour, and regularly supports New York Fashion Week events. FACE atelier enjoys a massive and loyal following of makeup artists around the world, and has a host of celebrity fans that include Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson and Miranda Lambert. It’s a kit staple on American television shows like Hannibal, True Blood, The Goldbergs, Rules of Engagement and Community as well as a host of networks that include MTV, PBS, CNN and the news departments of ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox.

Who is the FACE atelier woman? She’s any woman, aged 19 to 90. Color refers to her favorite shade of lipstick, not her skin tone. She wants to look and feel her best, and knows that makeup is one of the many tools women have to accomplish that goal. She starts each day by putting her best face forward because looking good is the best revenge against the trials and tribulations - large and small - women face every day.
FACE atelier founder Debbie Bondar, the mother of two grown daughters, is committed to helping women of all ages realize there is nothing wrong with themselves just as they are. She’s aware women of all ages are bombarded daily with unrealistic images of how they should appear. She urges women to embrace their reality rather than trying to defy it. She’s dedicated to helping women feel better about themselves - one brush stroke at a time.

FACE atelier believes in innovation - not imitation - because the world doesn’t need another pink lipstick. We prefer to concentrate on unique, versatile and high-performing products that are easy to use and, like a good man, do exactly what they say they’re going to do.
FACE atelier uses only essential ingredients that have a specific purpose and without which the quality of the makeup would be compromised. Accordingly, FACE atelier does not add scent or flavor to its cosmetics. Nor do we use ingredients that are marketing friendly but of dubious effectiveness in cosmetic formulation.
To preserve the integrity of its makeup, FACE atelier products do not have SPF values. The American Academy of Dermatology advises women not to use cosmetics for SPF protection. We urge you to begin your day with an effective sunscreen of your choice. Further, many women are unaware that the increased concentration of titanium dioxide causes products to flash white, ruining everything from casual photos to important moments. Read more here.
FACE atelier is against animal testing. FACE atelier received official approval of its animal testing policies from PETA shortly after the company was launched. We are also recognized by Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC) Leaping Bunny Program, listed as an approved manufacturer on their Caring Consumer website. The force behind FACE atelier is Debbie Bondar, a successful businesswoman with over twenty years of niche retail experience who also holds degrees in Law, Journalism and English Literature. She is keenly aware of the importance of healthy self-esteem. Debbie knows empowerment comes in many forms and experienced first-hand the positive effect that cosmetics can have on a woman’s sense of self. Launching FACE atelier was part of her post-divorce reinvention during which time she often remarked that looking good was the best revenge. Yet she was challenged to find products that could help her achieve that goal. As a result, FACE atelier was born.
Debbie believes that makeup can – however minutely - help women build and maintain a healthy and positive self-worth. This belief inspired her to create FACE atelier, featuring innovative and unique products that enable women to transform themselves with both ease and style. Not surpisingly, she believes in the product, not its packaging. And most importantly, she believes in herself.
